Connect Groups at Salem

God created people with a need to be known and accepted. Healthy camaraderie, friendships and social activity build enduring relationships and contribute to strong marriages, families and workplaces. Salem’s Connect Groups serve as a foundation for God-honoring Christian community.

Connect Groups form around three preferences: life stage, geographic location, or day of the week. Most groups meet in homes or at Salem. Groups usually meet once or twice a month. Studying God’s Word, praying for and with one another, and eating some sort of food are the most common elements of a typical Connect Group gathering.

Jesus in Our Generation

Every generation approaches the world a bit differently, impacting their view of God, self, and neighbor. For young adults, major advances in technology and rapidly changing social and political landscapes have left us scrambling to find—or even define—truth. The Power of Knowing God

Dr. Tony Evans believes seeking to know God is life's greatest purpose. In this series, he shares strategies and skills for how you can live victoriously as a child of God. Your connection with God can be so much more than going to church, reading the Bible, and attending study groups. Dr. Evans will equip you with the tools you need for pursuing an authentic and life-transforming relationship with your Savior.

Wednesdays in the Word

Open to all / online / Weekly on wednesday evenings

Wednesdays in the Word is a weekly touch-point Bible check-in on Zoom. We started in the middle of the pandemic, but it continues to be an opportunity for people to gather together virtually, be encouraged by God’s Word and pray together. We meet every Wednesday when we don’t have an evening worship service (Ash Wednesday we won’t meet) from 7pm to approximately 8pm. We’d love to have people sign on and participate as much as they feel comfortable from the comforts of their home. Our only book is the Bible – any translation, any date, your choice.

B90 is a group-oriented, Bible reading program that engages people in a 90-day, cover-to-cover reading of the Bible. While reading the Bible in 90 days may seem intimidating, it's only about 12 pages a day! Then connect with your group weekly Sunday mornings in Salem's school classroom #1204 to reflect over what you read throughout the week.

50s+ Empty Nesters

50s+ Empty nesters / tomball, tx / twice a month on sunday mornings

Join this group of 50s+ empty nesters. They work through 5-day studies via YouVersion and talk about them when they meet at Salem Sunday mornings twice a month.

If you’ve lost someone you love, this can be a confusing time. You may feel isolated and have many questions about things you’ve never faced before. It may be hard for you to feel optimistic about the future right now. If you’ve lost a spouse, child, family member, or friend, you’ve probably found there are not many people who understand the deep hurt you feel. This Christ-centered program can help you move toward rebuilding your life and finding hope again. A new session will begin February 6th and they meet weekly on Monday from 6:30-8:30pm.

DivorceCare

Tomball, tx / weekly on wednesday evenings

If you're separated or divorced, it’s normal to feel isolated. Your life can be lonely, stressful, and may even seem hopeless, but there IS hope and help through the Christ-centered DivorceCare program for adults. You’ll discover people who understand your hurts, emotions and painful experiences! You’ll find that you are not alone and there are others who understand what you are going through. A new session begins February 8th and they meet weekly on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:30pm.

Cancer Care

tomball, tx / on the third monday of each month

We provide spiritual and emotional support to people who are experiencing cancer and their caregivers. Cancer Care meets on the 3rd Monday of each month at 7pm in Salem’s Fellowship Hall. Please join us for an informal pinch of time to catch up, have a cup of coffee, and share prayer requests with our Salem Cancer Care Ministry team members, fellow cancer patients and caregivers.

Al-Anon

tomball, tx / weekly on tuesday evenings

Al-Anon welcomes anyone who has experienced the devastating effects of another’s alcoholism or addiction. We come together to share our experience, strength and hope.
