I love magic tricks. Take me to a magic show, and I am locked in. In college, another student put a card someone else drew inside an orange, with their signature on it! My jaw was on the floor, and I still have no idea how he did it. My husband used to do magic tricks when we first started dating, and he showed me that the tricks are usually about distractions and the sleight of hand. He would get me to look elsewhere while he swaps out the cards. It’s unbelievable, but very explainable. Jesus’ miracles are unbelievable, miraculous, and only explained by the power of God. When Jesus raised Lazurus from the dead after three days (John 11:17-44), that wasn’t a sleight of hand. It was the power of God. Jesus calming the storm wasn’t a distraction. It was Jesus commanding the winds and the water (Luke 8:22-25).

This devotional book is meant to guide you through Lent this year, revealing the power of Christ through His unbelievable miracles. These devotions are written by your family and friends who sit next to you each Sunday and serve alongside you. I hope you spend a few intentional minutes a day, resting in Jesus’ unbelievable power and love for us. I pray that God continues to reveal more of Himself to you throughout these 40 days. I pray these words encourage you and point you to the unbelievable love of Jesus culminating in His death and resurrection.
